Starting from January 1, 2026, a new regulation will come into force in Georgia, according to which all foreign nationals entering the country must have a valid travel insurance policy.
This mandatory travel insurance requirement for Georgia aims to protect travelers from possible unforeseen situations during their stay, such as medical emergencies, accidents, health issues, or other travel-related disruptions, ensuring financial protection, medical coverage, and peace of mind while traveling.

The insurance policy must cover the entire duration of the insured person’s stay in Georgia.
Why is it mandatory?
